DESCRIPTION:Across the country\, gatherings to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE-day – the end of World War 2 in Europe – have been cancelled. No street parties\, parades or pageants.  Undeterred\, Penrith Town Band are marking the occasion from their doorsteps. We will put on band uniform and at 2.55pm play The Last Post and Reveille. \nIt won’t just be the traditional  bugles and cornets but all of us from soprano cornet  to bass tuba\, including our 88-year-old trombonist Sidney Tyson. We all want to contribute.
